JerryG Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Having a problem where my Main Corridor in my Xref is Disappearing in my drawing that the Xref is linked to. (shows up fine in the Xref itself) This is happening in any Drawings that the Xref is in. The Xref has Multiple Corridors in it witch all show up fine in my drawing. Everything in the Xref also shows up fine except for the main Corridor which does not show up at all. The Corridor in question will show up if I detach and reload the Xref however once I regen it goes away. This is what I have Tried so far. 1.Saved the drawing and Xref as different names then Attached the Newly named Xref again - no change. 2. Made sure everything was turned on in the Corridor Style - No change 3. Ran an Audit, Recover and Purge on the Xref and Drawing - No change 4. Completely detached all Xrefs in the drawing Closed AutoCAD - rebooted computer then Reloaded Xref - No change Changed "Type" to "Overlay" - No change, so changed it back to "Attach" Xref and drawing settings: Indexctl is 3 Demand load is 3 Annoallvisable set to 1 Visretain 1 Display - General - all on - No change. Anything else anyone can think of to try????? Quote
JerryG Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 Ok so I changed the code set style hoping that there was some setting in there keeping the corridor from showing up but it did not change. Im stumped! Quote
JerryG Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 Any guesses? Still having this issue... Quote
MillerMG Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 This is a really stupid idea but is the main corridor layer turned off? I am almost 100% sure that you have already checked this but I have had this happen to me as well. Also for some odd reason is the style for the corridor properties display tab turned on? Quote
JerryG Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 Yes that was my first thought to. Just to make sure I even placed the corridor on a completely new layer. Looked at the Display tab also and it is on. Ive also changed the corridor style completely. When I open the drawing for the first time or reload the xref I see the corridor just fine but as soon as I regen it goes away???????? Whats really odd is I have 6 intersections in the drawing that are on the same corridor style and they show up just fine. Quote
MillerMG Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 This is pretty much how I feel right now about your last post........................................... I am at a loss for words. I have no idea what else could possibly be preventing one object that is the exact same as the others from showing up in your drawing. This is a horrible idea but maybe try not using it as a xref? JerryG Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 Ok - Fixed!!! It took one of my coworkers looking over my shoulder and suggesting things I had not thought of. Matt B gets credit for the fix! So what it was is the "Rebuild automatic" was checked on the corridor that was not showing up. For reasons I am still unclear about it was causing the corridor to not show when xrefe'd into a drawing. What's odd though is I have over 7 different corridors in this xref and they were all checked "rebuild Automatic". It did not affect those just my main corridor. So we unchecked "rebuild Automatic" in the Xref. Saved the drawing. Then reloaded and it works as it should now Quote
MillerMG Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Say What!?!?!?!?! That's awesome JerryG! Thanks for following up. That is very strange indeed. I would have never thought to look at that. Glad you got it all figured out! I just noticed I used a LOT of !!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha. My apologies. Quote
JerryG Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 You bet! Its one of those things I would have never thought of either since it really should not have any control over the corridor in an xref. Quote
MillerMG Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I'd have to agree with you there Mr. Incredible. I have no idea why it would change the outcome of the xref. Autodesk probably isn't too sure either. haha Quote
