CADDork Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Hello all I have searched everywhere and cannot find an answer. Is there a way to have the bulb profile for a cul-de-sac be tied to the centerline line alignment for the road (Road A) coming into the cul-de-sac, such that if the Road A profile is raised or lowered, the profile for the cul-de-sac bulb is also raised and lowered? My boss thinks that if the Road A centerline has an assembly with curb and gutter as a sub-assembly, that the cul-de-sac bulb profile can be tied to the top of curb elevation of the Road A sub-assembly and dynamically change when Road A is raise / lowered. He does not want to manually use "Inquiry” to get the elevation of Road A and compute the top of curb for the cul-de-sac bulb. Is this possible? The colors help me see what I am talking about and asking Thank you Quote
MillerMG Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I hate to put a post that I don't think is helpful but I figured I would put my two cents in to this post. There may be a way to link the proposed profile of the cul-de-sac to the main road centerline proposed profile. We usually just run a surface label - spot elevation to check what the tie in points are and run the proposed profile from there. There is a way to lock the elevations. Maybe one of the other guys/ladies can elaborate on this. Regards, Miller Quote
Organic Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 As far as I am aware it isn't possible in Civil 3D. This is possible (and useful) in 12d though [and presumably other software packages also]. Quote
BlackBox Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 The only way that I know to accomplish this, is to use SincPac's Dynamic Links functionality, specifically the DLPROFILES Command. Cheers Quote
CADDork Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 Thanks for the help and replies. My boss saw something on Youtube (probably SincPac) and was apoplectic when discovering that this functionality was not part of $7,000 +/- C3D. Thanks again Quote
