SAFeSTeR Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 (edited) Hi, I'm experimenting using AutoCAD without the classic 'Display Layout and Model tabs' being active and using 'Quick View' previews instead, however, it's not working quite like I remember a few years ago when I first encountered the ribbon. What I want, if possible, is for the drawing previews to be minimised somewhere near the bottom of the screen and for their layouts to be highlighted (or slightly enlarged) ready for selection when I hover my mouse over them. This does not seem to be an option and instead I have to click the 'Quick View' icons in the status bar to achieve this. There is an option to pin them, but this keeps them constantly open and obstructs a lot of the drawing area. If I hover over the open drawing tabs under the ribbon then the layouts for that particular drawing do enlarge ready for selection, but they [EDIT: don't] show a right click menu. I've looked in the options / searched the forum but found nothing that helps and my help files seem to be disabled or non existant. So, is there a way to get what I want and how I first remember the previews? Edited November 23, 2015 by SAFeSTeR text correction Quote
RobDraw Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I tried eliminating the layout and model tabs and using the drawing tabs/Quick View instead. After a few months, I had to turn them on. I just couldn't get used to quick view and missed the right click menu on the tabs. Quote
RobDraw Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 FYI, I cannot find Quick View in 2016. I think it has been merged with the Layout tabs. Quote
SAFeSTeR Posted November 20, 2015 Author Posted November 20, 2015 OK thanks Rob, guess I'm looking for something that doesn't exist anymore Quote
Dana W Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 FYI, I cannot find Quick View in 2016. I think it has been merged with the Layout tabs. Yup, roll over a tab and bingo, a quickview thumbnail pops up. Quote
steven-g Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 FWIW I have a series of toggles setup, one of them turns the model/layout tabs on/off. The reason being, I like as much drawing screen as possible and only use the tabs occasionally, but it's a nice to be able to get at them quickly. So I have it mapped to Ctrl+8, and on a separate user menu list. Along with toggles for all sorts of other bars and palettes. Quote
