Zach571 Posted November 6, 2015 Posted November 6, 2015 I am very new to Inventor and ran into a problem that I cannot find an answer to. I've created several drawings when I was using the trial version, now I have LT and I just keep running into little issues that were not present with the trial version. I realize LT does not have all the features but in this case my dimensions are incorrect and placed italic/angled. Other dimensions are correct. When I go back to my sketch the dimension there is what I want but not what is displayed in my drawing. Please see the attached pic. .638 should be .556, .476 should be .374 and the 6.997 should be 6.890. Is this a scale issue? Thanks, Zach Quote
Zach571 Posted November 6, 2015 Author Posted November 6, 2015 I saved, closed, and opened and now its just peachy. The old wonky dims were still there but so far all newly placed dims are correct. I'd still like to hear some input/theories as to the cause though. Thanks, Zach Quote
ecshclark Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 There was probably a different style and standard active on the trial version. Under Annotate you can select the Style before placing a dimension. You can also RMB on an existing dimension and edit the style or make a new style. Under Manage you will also find the Styles Editor where you create or edit Styles and Standards. Under Tools > Document Settings you can set the Active Standard. You can set up drawing templates with a style and standard active so new drawings have that as default. Quote
JD Mather Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 You can place True Dimensions or Projected Dimensions - this is relevant to isometric or skewed views. My guess is that your part is slightly skewed. Attach the files here and end all doubt. Quote
spiderdian Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 i agree with JD, i think the point you snapped at belongs to a different plane, in this case - it is skewed. Try to pull the dimension and put it again to the point where you want to place it. Quote
