Wink small Pipe Network bogs down drawing

Hi,

 

 

I have a small pipe network (7 pipes, no structures) in a simple drawing (There is one data referenced alignment.)

 

 

Now that I have added the network, my drawing is veeeery slow to open. I need to add a lot more pipes! Sure I can break apart the drawing, but it is a 20 mile project. Am I missing something? Will I have to make 20 drawings?
