Guest Xenophon Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 i use this: Setup_CADPreviewImage.zip This free application enables thumbnail icons in Windows Explorer for Rhino 3DM and AutoCAD DWG files. Just download and install - that's all there is to it.source: http://www.lynx4d.com/products.php for PSD and AI. The zip file contains two reg files and two dll files and full instructions on how to enable a thumbnail view in windows explorer which has been disabled by default since Adobe CS I have been using these files for a while now but had to do some research to get them to work in CS3 they work for me without any bother and it means I am able to browse with windows explorer and see thumbnails of my PSD, AI and EPS files without having to use bridge which I find is quite slow. The instructions call for editing the registrysource:http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=51611 like this regedit to enable MAX thumbnail previews, just 1k! EPS http://www.exefind.com/xentient-thumbnails-P19168.html (also JPG, JPE, JPEG, JP2, J2K, GIF, PNG, BMP, WBMP, EMF, WMF, PCX, PBM, PGM, PNM, PPM, RAS, TIF, TIFF, and TGA) SVG thumbnails http://www.examotion.com/index.php?id=product_player_download SWF http://www.swf-kit.com/swfpreview.html and TGA http://greggman.com/pages/thumbplug_tga.htm i also have a 3ds and Obj one but that is not free. 3d shell extensions see:http://rbytes.net/software/3d-shell-extensions-review/ attachment fully scanned and safe with ClamWin anti-virus. trust me. shell extensions are very useful for organizing also very useful if you run 64bit here is the 3DM shell extension for opennurbs thumbs - psd ai.zip regedit.zip Quote
Bobthomas Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 It is right for you to use DWGSee 2009--DWG Viewer, and this application allows you to browse, view, measure, print DWG/DWF files directly in windows without entering in AutoCAD, you may seach dwgsee and try to use this application Quote
Cad64 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Hmmmmm, Bob Thomas and Reynaldo Thomas? Something smells fishy here. Perhaps this is just an advertisement for your DWGSee software? Quote
Cad64 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 i use this: Setup_CADPreviewImage.zip for PSD and AI. (see attached) there are others too... What are these files? Where did you get them? The "ReadMe" says that the files contained in that zip will alter your registry settings and can potentially damage your computer. I won't be taking that risk. Quote
Cad64 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Thank you for updating your previous post to give details and instructions about the files you have attached, but I have deleted your last post. I don't think an explanation is necessary. Have a nice day. Quote
Guest Xenophon Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 you got it is very helpful for everybody PS is there a reason you don't run xp 64 bit on the box in your specs? Quote
Cad64 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 PS is there a reason you don't run xp 64 bit on the box in your specs? My 32 bit home system does everything I need it to do, for now. At work, I have a 64 bit system and a render farm which I have 24-7 access to. I may upgrade my home system someday, but at this point in time, I really have no reason. Quote
JONTHEPOPE Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 I use volo view. it views dxf + dwg Quote
Cad64 Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Unfortunately, Volo View is being discontinued and will no longer be supported by Autodesk. But you can download Autodesk Design Review, which is replacing Volo View. Quote
