InsertingModelsIntoAnAssembly

Back in Mechanical Desktop if you wanted to add a Screw to an assembly you could pick "3D Content" "Fasteners" and "Screws..." and select whatever type of screw that you wanted from the Library.

It created a Model without the external threads, but everything else looked great.

Is there a way to do this with Inventor?

Yes, you need to load the Content Center. It has to be selected during installation. If it is loaded you would go to the Place Component flyout and choose Place from Content Center instead. Keep in mind these files are stored in a separate directory and will not place themselves into your local workspace unless you choose the Custom option.

Thanks, I knew that I had it, just didn't know where to look.

Works great!

Handy tip is to set up your favorites so you can easily find the common fasteners :)
