AtomR Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Hi there, I need some help on this drawing which I want to draw in AutoCAD: As you can see, iI need help in the red rectangular portion. I want to know how to know the position of the curvy lines & small circle. I know how to draw it. I just want to know, how to find the centre/location of small circle (diameter 14) & location of curvy lines (with radius 14 & 11). If possible for an expert, can someone guide me where to draw the circle & curvy lines? If possible, please make a video & upload to YT. I know, it would take only 10 mins for an expert to make it. Thanks. Quote
lrm Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Since the DIA 14 circle and R14 arc can presumed to be concentric, the y coordinate of the circle is 14 below the top horizontal edge. The X coordinate is explicitly given. Use the fillet command to add the R11 arc between the R14 arc and the horizontal line at the top of the DIA28 circle. Quote
Dana W Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 All the circles and arcs are explicitly located by their center point location dimensions from each other. Lay out the center locations, draw the circles and arcs, connect with lines, trim. extend, done. Start all the arcs as circles, then connect with straight lines and trim off the parts of circles not needed. The only ones that are the least bit hard are the non-concentric arc's that make up part of the "bean shape" in the middle. However, the two smaller arcs can be located, drawn as circles, then place the two larger arc's as circles using the TTR (Tangent, Tangent, Radius) option of the circle command. Quote

BKT Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 When you choose the circles using TTR make sure you choose in the quadrant you want the tangent point: Quote
AtomR Posted August 23, 2015 Author Posted August 23, 2015 When you choose the circles using TTR make sure you choose in the quadrant you want the tangent point: Thanks a lot, man. It worked. Quote
AtomR Posted August 23, 2015 Author Posted August 23, 2015 Thanks everyone for being really helpful. The whole drawing completed. I'll try to stick to these forums as a beginner for a while. Quote
