halam Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) I like animated gifs for showing some construction principal. Would be nice if you incorporate this in digital drawings. DWF or PDF. (..Edited: is it possible..?) Edited August 6, 2015 by halam Quote
halam Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Anyone who has some experience with sharing or working with them? (forum does not support animated gif I noticed) Quote
ReMark Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 So you want to know how to incorporate an animated gif in a DWF and/or PDF. Is that the question? This article says a gif can be inserted into a PDF. I have no idea if the technique works or not. http://www.ehow.com/how_7149613_add-gif-pdf.html Quote
SLW210 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I moved your thread to the AutoCAD Drawing Management & Output Forum. What PDF creation/editing software do you have? It might be easier to use PowerPoint, IIRC, it will use Animated GIFs. If you have Adobe Pro or InDesign, I'm pretty certain you can use a .swf or Quicktime movies in PDF, but it is a referenced attachment much like Xrefs in AutoCAD and the files must be moved together. halam Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 (edited) Thanks SLW. It is just a thought I want to share.. We use PDF Xchange to annotate pdf drawings made with autocad. It is possible to import .gif but it is not (yet?) possible to have it animated printed . .. I would think this has something to do with 'open' standards or copyrights. Jpeg is open but does not have animation features. I was thinking it might be very cool if it was possible https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GIF#Animated_GIF Edited August 6, 2015 by halam update Quote
SLW210 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Has nothing to do with copyright reasons, I use GIFs all the time in AutoCAD. You can make a slide show in AutoCAD. You asked about PDFs and Animated GIFs. Quote
halam Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Yes, just a thought I liked to share. I wonder why or what it is that animation of .gif is not possible in a DWG file Could it be developed further. Is see benefits in well produced animation in a digital drawing environment Think about the see value in putting together assemblies and erection procedures. Also to show how parts relate to other parts. These are things that static PDF/ DWF sections a poor at doing.. Quote
iconeo Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I don't know about you, but I could sure use some dancing cats in my drawings. Quote
