Dinochrome Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 When starting AutCAD I get "First run initializing" on the splash screen. This happens after security updates. My computer hangs with the splash screen up for a few hours, then magically AutoCAD starts. It affects 2013 and 2015. Quote
Dinochrome Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Have any of you encountered this, and what was your fix please? Quote
ReMark Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Try eliminating the splash screen and see what happens. Quote
Dinochrome Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 OK, I'll find that setting... This only happens after security updates. My company has their own suite and then there are also Windohs updates. I haven't logged which updates cause this. The messages for the updates are cryptic at best. Yesterday my AutoCAD failed to launch three times, followed by just sitting there for about 2-1/2 hours and magically starting. This morning it loaded quite fast. Some of what I read around the interwebz suggested that there was a connection to some of the aliased directories AutoCAD uses like: C:\Users\dinochrome\appdata\roaming\autodesk\autocad 2013 - english\r19.0\enu\support ...things get pointed at directories that are removed/renamed during updates or some such.
