marlon Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 On the lower left corner of the screen, there are three tabs: Model, Layout1, and Layout2. The background of Model is black. Is there a way to change it to white? Also, if I change it to white, I would also like to change the current layer's color to black (since the default is white), but I don't think the color selection dialogue box has black, the nearest to it is a very dark gray. Thanks guys! I'm using AutoCAD 2002. Quote
wannabe Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Tools >> Options >> Display >> Colours. I think. I can't remember if 02 is exactly that pattern. Quote
marlon Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 thanks a lot! The white automatically turns into black, but if I render the drawing, it goes back to white. Anyway, it's really not that important to me, just curious. Quote
eldon Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 The background colour is a personal thing, depending on your eyes. I found that with a black background, I had difficulty with the contrast with some colours. With a white background, the whole screen was too much of a glare, so I settled on a grey (253) backgound. One way to get to the settings is to type "pref" on the command line. A dialogue box opens up, and you want to go for the Display tab, and then Colors in the Window Elements section. Then in Window Elewment, scroll to Model tab background, and then choose (or type in 253) to get a nice restful background. The line colours will change themselves, and what was white lines on a black background will automatically turn to black lines on a grey/white background. Quote
