Deodar311 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I'm trying to setup a Data Extraction table with text and a basic formula or two. The problem comes when I update the table. My formula points to a different block instead of the block I choose. (e.g. "=A3*.5" becomes "=A4*.5") When creating the table I tried to setup the formulas so they are automatically generated. I had no luck setting up this simple formula (the one used above). Using Data Extraction I count the blocks in the drawing, then I want to run a simple formula and then to "Sum" the column. As I add and subtract blocks I need the table to update (manually or automatically). Seems simple enough doesn't it? In a best case scenario I would like to setup Data Extraction to automatically generate the proper results rather than manually going in and setting up the formula for each block, especially after every update. The attached image is my attempt to setup the formula within the Data Extraction setup. Sorry for the large size of the image. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Drawing3.dwg Quote
Deodar311 Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 I continued to play around with the "Insert Formula Column" and finally managed to make it work. Even though Autocad reported an error, the formula worked. Do not put an equal sign "=" in front of the formula and it may work. When i tried to multiply the column "Count" by .5, the formula did not work, however by dividing the column by 2, the formula did work! Data Extraction has the potential to create a BOM, but it will take some effort. Quote
Deodar311 Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 Is it possible to add a second, or even multiple headers to a data extraction table? Quote
