fabypaw12 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Hello guys, I am new to this software and have been trying to perform a simulation but i still cant get it right. What i am trying to simulate is a thermo storage unit. the part im trying to do has a very simple desgin th yet i am still not able to get it. Refrigerant is passing through a tube with an initial temperature of 105F and a volumetric flow rate of 10gal/min, the pipe is made of copper is surrounded by with ice or water at 32F. It want to know by a simulation what is the outlet temperature and how the temperature decreases in relationship through time. I am having so much trouble with the water container, if i import it from inventor everything ends up being one (pipe and water container) and i just dont know what to do, please if anyone can help,:( faby Quote
lrm Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Here's an excellent resource for learning how to use CFD with Inventor: http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/cfd#?p=Simulation%20CFD&sort=score When working with CFD you are essentially making a geometric model of the voids where the fluid flows not the structure that contains it. Check out the demo files in the above link. Quote
