Ildan Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Hello, Something change few days ago and I don"t understand why... Here my problem : Usually, i could use "L" for Line, "M" for move but now, when i type "L" a list appears suggesting the avalaible command.. and the first suggestion isn't "Line" How can I change that? I mean, to bring back the previous configuration when not list appeared Thank you Quote
ReMark Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 It could be the AUTOCOMPLETE feature. Invoke the INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS command and disable it. Quote
nestly Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Do you not want the list, or do you want to change the order of the list? You may be able to solve both/either by adjusting INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS Quote
RobDraw Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 That list can be quite helpful, like if you can't quite remember the name of a command or it's too long time to type every time. It's my understanding that the list self adjusting. Most commonly used commands should start appearing at the top of the list. There is also a delay setting that can be adjusted to a longer time so that the list doesn't appear too quickly. Quote
Ildan Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 Thanks a lot ! Actually the list isn't sort for a friend. When she types "L", line isn't the first choice so she needs to type the complete word. INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS isn't working, do i need to put it in command ? Thanks again Quote
ReMark Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Type the variable at the command line, press the Enter key and it should bring up a dialog box with several options. Quote
Ildan Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 Doesn"t work.. Weird .. Command: INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS Unknown command "INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS". Press F1 for help. Anyway thanks for all Quote
nestly Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Are you using 2014 as shown in your Profile? (AutoCAD for Mac perhaps?) There should be a wrench icon at the left of the Command Line. Quote
Dana W Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Doesn"t work.. Weird .. Command: INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS Unknown command "INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS". Press F1 for help. Anyway thanks for all The very feature you are trying to manipulate will tell you whether or not INPUTSEARCHOPTIONS exists. Just type INPUT, and see what the list shows you. I am pretty sure if the Search List shows up, the command to get to its editor dialog has to be there. It is available in 2015 LT. No reason why it should not show up in full 2014, except for spelling, maybe. Quote
Dana W Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I wonder. When I type "L", LINE is first on my list, and I have it set to "According to frequency of Usage". Weird because I almost never use regular lines, about 99% polylines instead. Quote
nestly Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Pretty sure it's according to frequency for "matching" search criteria. ie when you type "L" only commands that begin with "L" are sorted either alphabetically or by frequency. "LI" would sort only commands that begin with "LI" by frequency ie Line, Limits, Lights etc. "PolyLIne" would still be on the list, but only after all the "LI" matches Quote
Dana W Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Not that it matters at all, but I get this... 2,3,4, & 7 I use all the time, 1,5, & 6 never. Help says it is by frequency of usage, but you're probably right in that it has a lot to do with the matching. It is feeding me "L" simply because it is apha sorted ahead of "LA' and "L" is all I typed. And it is a loooooooooooooooong list of everything that matches "L". Like I said up front though, not that it matters. Hopefully this is not one of those infinitesimally small booger's that we get way too deep into. I'm fine with it. Quote
