shanelo7a Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Hi this is my first autocad 3d project so forgive me if I am not using the right terminology. So I need to create a boxed shape cover for an instrument that we have. So I drew the base in 2d then used the extrude command to build the box, after that I used the shell commands to empty it, now I am stuck at trying to remove the bottom of the box. Can someone help please? Quote
nestly Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 It's easier to remove the "bottom" face during the command when it says "Remove Faces". Otherwise, maybe SLICE or push another object through the bottom and SUBTRACT? Quote
AutoCAD.Adviser Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) Hi You can create a hollow cover with the 3D command Subtract. First you create 2 solid boxes with the Box command. One box smaller than the other. Next you start the Subtract command. Click on the bigger box first and press enter. Next you click on the smaller box and press enter. Now you have created a hollow cover. Edited February 24, 2015 by AutoCAD.Adviser Grammar Quote
