coralflame Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Hi! I have a 1:50000 jpeg image of a sample map and I wanted to create output images of 1:25000, 1:12500, 1:10000 and 1:5000. How can I do that without sacrificing the quality of the original file? Thank you in advance. Quote
Spaj Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Hi Insert the image to a known scale in modelspace ie 1:1 and create paperspace veiwports at the required scales. Obviously as the scales increase ie 1:5000 the image will become more pixelated. Quote
BIGAL Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 You may want to think about tiling the image as multiple imagEs to keep quality Quote
coralflame Posted February 8, 2015 Author Posted February 8, 2015 Hi Spaj and BIGAL! Thanks for the quick reply. I was thinking of converting it into vector then apply the method that you suggested. Is this process better than directly re scaling the jpeg image? My sample image is 400 dpi, I think it will not be too pixelated if I will go for 1:5000 scale. Am I correct in my theory? Quote
Spaj Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Hi What application do you intend to use to convert your map to vector format? Intrigued to see the results. I would say stick with the jpeg. If your 1:50000 map is 400dpi then a 1:5000 viewport is going to be 40dpi. Quote
