Madruga_SP Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Hi guys, I was wondering if is possible to set the arrow in the middle of the line instead of the endpoint. Regards Aligned dimension.pdf Quote
Madruga_SP Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Hi guys, I think my question is unecessary. I made some changes and works fine. I wanted to get the similar goal as my previously arrow line, using aligned dimension because is faster than manually. Quote
nestly Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 It looks like your solution was to explode the dimension and move the pieces as needed.... is that correct? Quote
Madruga_SP Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 I don't think it is a good idea my friend. Because if I explode the block I'll loose the reference. Quote
Dana W Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 There was a hidden suggestion to explain your solution so it would maybe help others. Quote
Madruga_SP Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Hi Dana There was a hidden suggestion to explain your solution so it would maybe help others. Like what? I would be happy if I able to help others. I just made some changes in my aligned dimension style. If anyone is interested in my solution I can post the dwg file Quote
nestly Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I am interested to know how you got the arrowheads in the middle of the dimension line, especially where doing so also required the dimension text above and below the dimension line to be offset farther from the dimline. Posting the drawing would be helpful. thanks Quote
Madruga_SP Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Hi, I'm attaching the file with the both ways. HTH test.dwg Quote
nestly Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 That answers my question about how you got the arrowhead in the middle. It's not a dimension, it's a dynamic block with a arrow symbol and text labels. thanks Quote
Madruga_SP Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 Guys, How Can I set the aligned dimension to remove the last command (Specify dimension line location or [Mtext/Text/Angle])? I'd like to just put start point and endpoint and the text fits in the middle of the line. Is it possible doing that? Quote
Dana W Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Yes, click twice on the end point. That sets the dimension line location on top of the end point rather than pulling it up to show extension lines. The text will land wherever your dimension style set up says it is supposed to go. (unless you have set your dimension style options to "Manually place text") OR, if you want same length extension lines for every dimension, that can be set in the dimension style editor as well. If anyone is interested in my solution I can post the dwg file Let me be more clear then. Nestly was suggesting that you explain your solution for two reasons, nestly was interested in the solution, and it is customary to post the solution to an issue, so anyone else running across the same problem might be helped by it. Madruga_SP Posted December 30, 2014 Author Posted December 30, 2014 thank you Dana, I thought there was other way instead of click twice on the end point. Quote
