surveying to profile

does anyone know how to create a profile directly from available surveying dataset in AutoCAD civil 3d ? Thanks!

It's not that difficult but a bit lengthy to try and explain here; try Help > Tutorials > Civil 3D. Pay particular attention to the Survey, Surfaces, Alignments and Profiles tutorials.

There are also tutorials that come with Civil 3d as well as others (in the help menu). See my tips and tutorials link in my signature for some topics covered here at the cadtutor forum. I'm pretty sure we've gone over this one before.

 

In short this is what you have to do:

 

1. Import any point data
   
2. Create a surface
   
3. Add point data to surface
   
4. Add breakline data to surface
   
5. Clean up surface if necessary
   
6. Run a profile via the profile menu
