need15 Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I have started a new job as a lighting designer and they use different methods as can be expected. The only problem is the boss wants it in a 1:50 scale on an A3 PDF as they have an A3 printer. I have tried at 1:50 but it zooms in too large. I've set up the page in 'page setup manager' but still can't get it as 1:50. I personally think it is too big but am I missing something here? I don't have anyone else to ask so don't know if it's just me or not. I'd appreciate any help on this. Thanks Quote
ReMark Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 1) Did you use a metric template file? 2) Please attach a copy of the drawing file (.dwg) to your next post. Someone here will take a look at it. Quote
need15 Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 Yes it is metric. I will have to attach tomorrow when I am in work. Thanks again Quote
ReMark Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Tomorrow? Did you draw everything in model space at FULL size? Did you draw in using millimeters? Quote
eldon Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 An A3 at 1:50 gives a size of 19.5m by 13.35m. So if the drawing is larger than that, it won't go on an A3 sheet at 1:50. Quote
ReMark Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 Time for a larger size piece of paper or a different scale. 1:100? 1:200? Quote
need15 Posted December 7, 2014 Author Posted December 7, 2014 Yep in work Monday morning. Yes drawn in model space at 1:1 (millimetres). I think it's too big for a3. I will just tell the boss it will have to be a different scale. Thanks for help guys I was going mental for a while trying to sort it Quote
Dadgad Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 If you enter MEASUREMENT at the commandline, what response do you get, , or ? Quote
eldon Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 This picture might help you to decide what scale is needed. Quote
Dadgad Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Measurement is at Good, as it should be if it was created on a Metric template. Nice visual eldon, that should help the op sort it out! Quote
