gokhandmr Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 hi all. i am new user and my first year on autocad i need the top view . anybody can help me? Quote
tzframpton Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Everything you need to complete the top view is here. First thing's first, it gives you the length and width of the object, which is 4.12 long x 2.24 wide. I would use the RECTANGLE command to get you started. What exactly are you having problems with? The dimensions, or initiating the commands themselves? Quote
gokhandmr Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 i draw 4.12 x 2.24 but i dont know where is the circle center and the other things. only draw the rectangle srry for my bad english Quote
tzframpton Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 You can draw in the referenced centerlines as a guide. Draw a CIRCLE anywhere on the drawing and use the MOVE command to put them in place. Use the CENTER object snap during the move command to ensure you've anchored to the absolute center of the circle. No worries regarding your English. This is an international forum and many people from all over are here to help! Quote
nestly Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Imagine the end view is rotated 90 degrees and placed above the side view. Quote
ReMark Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Are you sure the top view is correct? Forget the circular holes for the moment. Extrude the front and side views then run the Interfere command. Quote
nestly Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 No, the vertical hidden lines should not extend across the slot... tough to create an animated tutorial and keep it under that forum images size limit. Quote
ReMark Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I agree. What if you had animated the use of the Base View (Viewbase) command and only showed the generation of the top view? Quote
ReMark Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Look at the top view that nestly created in his animation. The long dashed lines between the sections that are 0.50 wide should really be continuous lines (not dashed). Quote
Dana W Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 The top of the bottom lateral slot is higher than the bottom of the top longitudinal slot. This creates a rectangular opening all the way through the object visible between the sides of the slot in the top side of the object. In other words, the lower slot cuts the bottom out of the upper slot. Quote
Dana W Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 i am confused plss draw it What have you drawn so far? Can you post a drawing? Do you know why hidden (dashed) lines are used in a drawing? Quote
Dana W Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 your object looks something like this isometric view. You can't see the hole at the other end because it is behind the vertical portion. Quote
easymike29 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 gokhandmr Have you been taught to do this? Gene Quote
ReMark Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 What are you attempting to demonstrate there Gene that nestly and Dana haven't covered? Quote
easymike29 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 What are you attempting to demonstrate there Gene that nestly and Dana haven't covered? The use of the 45 degree construction line. Gene Quote
Dana W Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I am beginning to think this is another failed attempt to get someone to do the homework for them. Quote

ReMark Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 (edited) The use of the 45 degree construction line. Gene Maybe you should have made that more clear to the OP then by putting in the remainder of the construction lines perhaps in a different color? Edited November 24, 2014 by ReMark Quote
