Cubes CDS Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Hi, This is a shot in the dark but is it possible to export/import parameters (specifically shared parameters) from one family to another. I have searched and it appears Autodesk supplied a plugin for subscription users to do this a while ago but it's not available now, unless I'm not looking in the correct place. Any help will be appreciated Quote
tzframpton Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Here's a couple, but there are many types out there: https://apps.exchange.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=appstore.exchange.autodesk.com%3abonustools%3aen and http://bim-source.com/2013/06/shared-parameter-management-2014/ Also you can use the Export Parameters tool which is a built-in function of the Shared Parameters File. Cubes CDS Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 Many thanks Tannar, I'll give them a go. I'm fairly new to Revit and have a lot to learn.... Regards Alex Quote

Cubes CDS Posted November 9, 2014 Author Posted November 9, 2014 My problem is I'm using Revit LT at the moment and it does not allow external add-ins to be used. All I want to do is import a family file shared parameters and it's values into a another family file, is this possible? Quote

Shared Parameters are pulled from a single source *.txt file that is mapped from Manage Tab > Shared Parameters. Once this is mapped, you can use the Export option when you select a parameter and click Modify. Quote
Cubes CDS Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 Ok thanks, I understand now. Would be nice to be able to export a batch of them at once but I guess I would need to upgrade and use the available plugins. Quote
