designerstuart Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 hi all i am sorting out a block library and as the blocks (previously saved using AutoCAD 2010) are saved (AutoCAD 2014) the preview icons in explorer change from nice black on white line drawings to terrible blackouts with the odd bit of linework. (top 4 in image have been updated) do i just have to live with this now? Quote
nestly Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 (edited) Thumbnails are basically a screenshot of the AutoCAD drawing area when the drawing is saved/closed. My guess is that you were using a white background in 2010 and possibly had Zoom > Extents built into your routine for closing the drawing, and now you're saving drawings while the drawing background is black. You can set a "Home view" but I'm not sure it's possible to keep a white thumb preview while using a black modelspace background unless you turn off automatic thumbnail creation. more Thumbnail Preview Settings UPDATETHUMBNAIL Edited October 22, 2014 by nestly Quote
designerstuart Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 afraid that's not it, there was no difference in the setup generally - i.e the blocks were saved zoom extents, black background, both 2010 and 2014. Quote
