andar424 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Hey guys, I have a job I am working on that has a customers file (step file) that is somewhat large and complex and it really bogs my machine down (working on getting the boss man to upgrade our pc's). When I turn the visibility off, it is buttery smooth. Is there anything I could do (shrink wrap?) to help with the performance issue? I'd like to leave the visibility on to help aid my design, but it really stinks when it makes my computer really choppy! I haven't messed with the shrink wrap tool at all, so would that help? Or is there anything else I can do? Thanks guys! Quote
JD Mather Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Is there a lot of internal (or even external) detail that is of no importance to you? Quote
andar424 Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 It's a gas tank for a car. I need the detail at times, but not all the time. It has a lot of curves and complex shapes/fillets to it. Quote
andar424 Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 shrink wrapping helps quite a bit. i lose some detail, but can just switch back to the original level of detail when i need it, otherwise leave the shrink wrap up and things run pretty smooth. Quote
