Filter No Good

Hi guys.

i get stuck due to this type of problem a lot .

here you see i have filtered a text which is actually cyan color but shows in the filter as 256 - By Layer.

Same goes to any entity be it lines or text which has color set to by layer

and iam unable to filter them by colour.

Have tried Qselect rather?

The color of the text has probably been overridden. I cannot explain other entities.

Ya Spaj i tried Qselect too doesnt help. filter and qselect properties are dependent on layer properties.

 

RobDraw i have not done anything to override the properties. in layer properties one sets the colour to say red, and the same layer is set to current and while drafting i dont change the properties i keep them set to by layer. it gets the colour alright but on filter insted of showing red it shows 256- by layer.

The text color is not "Cyan"... it's "ByLAYER" So you are effectively filtering them by "color" because your filter will only select objects on the "B-TEXT" layer that have a color property of "BYLAYER" Any texts on that layer that have a Color Property override will not be selected.

Good catch Nestly. I was stuck on the 256, ignoring the BYLAYER.
