Tahir Qayyum Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I am trying to do some modification in an already existing electrical lighting layout file. What I want to do is lighten the already made sketch and then draw new symbols over it. I have searched the internet but I could only find lightening raster but not whole diagrams. Can anybody guide how this is possible? Quote
nestly Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Is the lighting "layout" an actual Layout tab, or are you working on the drawing in the Modelspace tab? Quote
RobDraw Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 If by lightening, you mean using it as a background for your new work and having it plot as such. You need a plot style that has shading or very thin lineweights set up or a combination of the two. Check out some tutorials on plotting. If you mean on the monitor, I would set it up as an XREF and look into the XREF fade control variable. The layer lock fade control is another option. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I assume you are working on a new layer> Set dimming on inactive layers. (fading on locked layers) laylockfadectl range -90 to 90 0 locked layers not faded 90 locked layers faded by 90 percent Quote
Patrick Hughes Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Tahir, I believe what you are attempting to do is simply lighten the appearance of the line work in your 2D layout drawing, correct? If that is the case then simply change the color of the existing line work to a gray color and use black for your new drawing color. If you want to plot the same results then after making the modifications then adjust your color settings under the plot dialog. Quote
Tahir Qayyum Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 Thanks Patrick. Did just that and achieved what i wanted Quote
