MAGVA Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I know how to turn off automatic thumbnail updates. How do I update the thumbnail manually? Quote
ReMark Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Have you looked at the UPDATETHUMBNAIL system variable? Quote
RobDraw Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Curious, why would you want to do it manually? Quote
MAGVA Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 ReMark - If I understand it correctly, UPDATETHUMBNAIL controls which thumbnails get automatically updated when the .dwg is saved; and UPDATETHUMBNAIL = 0 turns off automatic updates. I've done this. RobDraw - I am trying to save thumbnails that are easily readable from Windows Explorer, for a detail library. I find that black & white thumbnails are the best so I go to Page Setup, check "display plot style", and save the file. Now that I have a decent thumbnail saved, I want to be able to turn "display plot style" off because I don't like working in black & white, and I don't want AutoCad to save a colored thumbnail over mine. [About me: I have been using AutoCad for 18 years. Now running AutoCad 2015.] Quote
