Sounds to me like you want to do a Helix.

You could do a Loft, but it would be easier to Sweep a line as a Helix and then Thicken the surface to a solid.

Attach your *.dwg rather than an image file if you can't figure it out.

yes you are right . !! i created to Helix , inner one and outer one then i created two lines like the yellow ones . then i used the join command so now i have a wire frame.

how do i turn the wire farm into a surface ? I'm guessing i can somehow slice it after i have a surface or do you think i can slice the 3d ring with a wire frame. ...?

thanks

Since you only have half a turn couldn't you create a closed profile, with different heights, at each end then use the LOFT command with the GUIDE option?

Like this for example...

This example tapers to a much thinner profile. The heights at each end are 1.0 and 0.1.

Yes I can aslong as I can also provide the dimensions to the CnC company .

But I don't know how to work the loft guide option . Any chance u can provide directions? Or and a file so I can view it on autocad?

Inner radius is 220, outer is 330, hight is 15, and 1

That would be really great if I can learn how to make it.

Thanks

Start the Loft command. Pick the objects (two profiles) to be lofted. Hit the Enter key then select the Guide option. Now pick one of the two partial helixes.

You are aware that AutoCAD has a Help file that explains how the various commands and their options work aren't you?

Use the helix command, use the 220 dim, create a .5 turn, height of 15. Draw a rectangle 110 wide, 1 high. Sweep, pick rectangle, hit enter, pick Alignment, pick helix.

The result would not be tapered though. Isn't that what the OP is looking for?

I am not sure, I assumed not tapered, hence my answer.

its the more i try things the more i learn ...

i have attached where i am at this moment ...

one i tried to slice .... or revolve ... didn't work . the other is what you suggested and the lofting guide leads me to no where

what next nothing works ..

Maybe I'm the one who is mistaken although I thought he wanted the ramp sliced from the top at one end to the bottom at the other.

rkent will probably be able to tell you where you went wrong before I can since I am not on my CAD computer and have no way to view your drawings at the moment. Sorry.

You did want a "tapered" ramp though didn't you?

thanks i am downloading it ... i don't know what tapered means so i can't answer yet.

on my file i am at this point . i finally have the surface and the 3d shape. i just need to slice the 3d with the surface .

any idea? i can't pick the surface for some reason ...

thanks so much it was super simple that way !!!!

i just needed to play with the UCS so i can draw on the Z axis ... the rest so simple!!! thank you and everyone out here trying to help.

BTW...tapered...pertaining to an object that is thicker at one end than it is at the other. Think of a "wedge".
