Revolve a line to create a surface, then use the Surface to SLICE the Solid

thanks a lot dear nestly

dear nestly for define line, These lines must be defined by the coordinates?(whether the z coordinate is zero)?? thanks

Posted

nestly isn't picking coordinates he is picking a point on the 3D model to draw his line. Then he rotates the line minus 30 degrees.

hi dear remark

Did you mean to rotate in top post is rotate?

if your possible explain more my question with use method nistly or The way your offer.

thanks remark

I was talking about the line that nestly drew from the top edge of the nut. He rotated it -30 degrees then revolved it to create a surface. This is the surface he used to trim away a portion of the nut to create the chamfer. Follow me?

yes i follow our speak, i follow method of nistly but My model comes in the form below,Where is my problem??

thanks remark

You're putting the line on the corner of the nut. You need to put it on the face so the surface will cut through the corners. Put the line in the center of the faces edge.

dear supercad

i put line in midpoint of edge, But my problem is not solved and as a result Was achieved.

please help me

You used wrong edge - you will need to observe geometry more carefully.

The line should be created at midpoint of Flat edge, not corner edge.

Maybe you should try the extruded circle technique instead?

Attach your dwg file here (before the Revolve) and someone will move the line to correct location for you.

dear jd , You mean like the following

I think it is correct, please check my figure

You should be able to do it both ways.

Now let's see you do the other side with Revolved line and Slice.

whether in upper post, i correct define line?

dear jd mather do you men other ways is extrude circle and use taper angle?

thanks a lot

Attach your dwg file here and end all doubt.

dear dr jd

i attached my dwg file here

please checked my file and express me about correct and wrong? if is wrong ,please modify .

thanks a lot

What are your (intended) modeling units?

Posted

dear dr jd

all units is per inch, My goal is correct general of the model drawing and Units does not important.

please tell me about corrected drawing model.

thanks a lot

... Units does not important.

Units are always important to me. I never let my students slide for a second in ignoring units.
