essemenov Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I try to make motorcycle tank model and chose loft feature for construction. For loft practice I began construct 1/4 of model using loft feature (with rails). When I chose objects "Start point", "Section 1", "Section 2", "Section 3", "End point" as cross sections and "Rail 1", "Rail 2" as rails I got error. What is wrong with this? when I chose objects "Start point", "Section 1", "Section 2" as cross sections and "Rail 1", "Rail 2" as rails I got part of 1/4 model. I spent a lot of time and have no result. May be using loft feature is wrong way? Any suggestions? Thanks for reading. I am using Autodesk Inventor 2013 x64. Attached file Loft56789.ipt -Evgeny Quote

JD Mather Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I didn't take the time to try to diagnose the problem - but, I am easily able to make a second loft, then simply Stitch the 2 Lofts together. (in image - I often pick my Rails first, then the Sections profiles) About to pick the End Point. Quote
lrm Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 You might try reversing what you define as sections and rails. That is, use your rails as sections and a section as a rail. This would avoid the the potential degenerative condition of lofting to a point. ~ lrm Quote
