scottkelley80 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 How do I draw a line that is tangent to a specific point on an arc? Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 You can either set your object snap (OSNAP) to tangent, most everything else will have to be turned off in your OSNAP settings before it will show however. The quick one-off solution is to just type in tan when it prompts you to select the first point. Where the tangent finally ends up though is entirely dependant on the angle and position of the line. scottkelley80 Posted December 8, 2008 Author Posted December 8, 2008 I want to make sure the tangent point of the line is at the intersection of the arc and another line... can this be done? Quote
eldon Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Make sure you have your Polar Tracking on, with the Polar Angle measurement set to Relative to last segment. Then draw a line from the centre of radius of the arc to the particular point on the arc. Then continue with your line with Polar Tracking at right angles to whichever side you want. Erase the first line. Quote
