WERDNA Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Hi, I sometimes have trouble copying details from one drg file to another, it happens intermittently and I can't figure out why, any ideas? Fies attached for info, I am trying to copy from layout to survey Layout.dwg survey.dwg Quote
MSasu Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 There were many previous discussions on this issue in the past; it seems that drawings created in some versions of AutoCAD had this behavior. Please do a search on the Forum for suggestions. Quote
nestly Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Can you be more specific about kind of trouble your having. Quote
ReMark Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Hi, I sometimes have trouble copying details from one drg file to another, it happens intermittently and I can't figure out why, any ideas? Fies attached for info, I am trying to copy from layout to survey I downloaded both your drawings and using AutoCAD 2014 and 2015 I was able to copy from Layout-1 to Survey-1 with no problem. Did you install the AutoCAD 2014 service pack? Quote
WERDNA Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 I recently installed AutoCad 2014 64bit Service Pack 1. The problem is not happening anymore, it seems to come and go very randomly It is slightly reassuring that it is a common problem. Quote
WERDNA Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 To the many previous discussion carried out on this topic, as mentioned above by MSasu. Quote
ReMark Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I think that is a generalization on his part and not meant to convey that 2014 has a particularly specific problem. You can try this trick... http://cadpanacea.com/node/346 Quote
nestly Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 "Common" is a relative term. If there are 100 topics about copy/paste issues, that still wouldn't necessarily make it a "common" problem among all forum users, much less the millions of AutoCAD users that likely have never experienced any such issue. On top of that, there is not just one type of copy/paste problem, which is why I requested something more specific than just a general "trouble copying details from one dwg to another" Like ReMark, I had no apparent issue with copy/paste in the supplied drawings, but then again perhaps I'm missing something since I don't really know what I'm looking for. What is the nature of the problem: Nothing copies/pastes Some things don't copy/paste Copy/paste works, but results are not as expected Copy/paste seems to work, but objects are not visible or do not appear where expected etc etc Quote
