Wohoo!

I found an Autocad forum that can be useful to an amateur guy like me! :)

(Welcome to me! 8))

The problem I have today is that the only thing i succeed with is to make a solid platform protruding OUT from the object when I am expecting a hole... :ouch:

My idea is accordingly to make an oval hole right into the center of the axle.

Use the Subtract command, select the shaft and hit Enter, then select the body to use for cutting and hit Enter again.

Welcome to the CADTutor Forum. :)

Follow this link http://www.cadtutor.net/tutorials/autocad/index.php?category_id=25

which will take you to the forum's 3D video tutorials.

For this particular question, watch the Extrude & Presspull video.

Presspull is much faster and easier than the EXTRUDE command,

as it will either create a 3D Solid, or a hole through a 3D solid, without

the use of the Subtract command.

You should probably watch all of these videos, whenever you have the time.

JD is, as usual, right.

The subtract command is a good option, given the stage of your

development, but if you had wanted to use the presspull command instead of

extruding that nub, you could have just pushed it, either into, or all the way through

the shaft.

Use the Subtract command, select the shaft and hit Enter, then select the body to use for cutting and hit Enter again.

Thank you!

The "Subtract command" was exactly what I needed! 8)

Thanks, I will watch the videos later. But actually I think I will learn more by "trial and erroring" by myself :)
