e_anders3 Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Is there a way to create a continuous dimension line that uses running dimensions instead individual segments? I know that you can do baseline measurement but I received a request to have the dimensions look like a continuous dimension line, but be running dimensions. I'm aware of UCS -> cordinate -> baseline (dimension) That's pretty much what I want but I want it to be a line with arrows and what not. I'm not even sure if it's possible. I've attached an image of what I'm looking for if it helps. Thanks! Quote
Dadgad Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 welcome to CADTutor. Very easily done. Use the DimContinue command, you will find it on the dimension toolbar, or presumably on the Dimension panel in the Ribbon (which I have as yet to embrace), or just type DIMCONT at the commandline. You might choose to use fixed length extension lines, which you can set on the LINES tab in your DIMStyle Manager, or they can be offset like normal dimensions by whatever distance suits you. Quote
eldon Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I think that you may find Baseline Dimension useful. Set the Baseline spacing at 0. Draw the dimensions, but you will then have to pull the dimension text to a useful place. AutoCAD is not very clever there. Quote
