basty
I have a 3D model of car that can be opened in 3ds Max. Everything looks grey such as below image: How do I render the body, the rim, the headlight, everything. How to render the rim as stainless steel? Thank you
Cad64
You will have to create and apply materials to the various parts of the car. How much experience do you have with Studio Max? You might want to take a look at some of the tutorial sites I have listed in this thread: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?29434-Free-Studio-Max-Tutorial-Sites-amp-Other-Stuff

You might want to take a look at some of the tutorial sites I have listed in this thread: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?29434-Free-Studio-Max-Tutorial-Sites-amp-Other-Stuff Seen them but no rendering tutorial. Cad64
You need to apply materials before you render, otherwise you will just be rendering the grey car. I would recommend going through the Studio Max tutorials that ship with the program. Go to the Help menu and choose Tutorials, or just click the link here: http://docs.autodesk.com/MAXDES/16/ENU/3ds-Max-Design-Tutorials/ Take a look at: 1. Materials and Mapping Tutorials 2. Lighting Tutorials 3. Rendering Tutorials
