TS_69 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Hi All - I'm a noobie to the forum, tho not CAD. Currently on AutoCAD 2014. When you use MTEDIT for the first time, and hit the "ESC" key, it asks if you want to save or discard changes. Well, on a new install, I accidentally hit "save" when I needed to "discard" as this is always the way I drop out of MTEDIT in order to discard any changes I made. Is there anyway to reset this? Or do I need a new install? Help please? TS Quote
ReMark Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Is this what you are after? If so, there is no need to reinstall AutoCAD. Hit the ESC key instead. Quote
neophoible Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Well, I duplicated your problem without knowing the solution first. That can be a mistake. Thankfully, I found that you can change it in Options > System> Hidden Messages Settings > AutoCAD > Multiline Text For those who want to cause the problem, just be sure to check "Always perform my current choice" before choosing (see ReMark's attachment above). Oh, one tidbit I found interesting is that it isn't in the list until you set it to "Always...", presumably because it is not hidden until that point. Quote
TS_69 Posted May 15, 2014 Author Posted May 15, 2014 @ ReMark: Yep, I always, upon first session of a new CAD install, click "NO" & "ALWAYS PERFORM MY CURRENT CHOICE", and on a few occasions over the years have hit "YES" instead, along w. "ALWAYS......", and once again did it yesterday ....and THANK YOU, neophoible, for helping me finally solving something that's caused me to kick myself countless times over the last 9 yrs (or however long mtext has been around, I started on DOS Release 10) TS Quote
neophoible Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Glad it solved your problem, TS_69. I've never been brave enough to click the Always before. Maybe now I will. Maybe. Quote
