ReMark Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 We're talking early 1980's not pre-1960. 0,0 is a coordinate. Examples of precision would be 0.0, 0.00, 0.000 etc. A precision of 0.0 would still work. STOP! Do NOT use SNAP or GRID for that matter. Disable both. I was taking about Object Snaps (i.e - OSnaps). Please attach a copy of the drawing to your next post ASAP. I'll wait. Quote
hisdiamond Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 Remark, Im trying to upload the drawing. Let me know when you have received it. DblDoors.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) It's 5:50 a.m. and I just opened your drawing. OK...the good. You set up a layer for your double doors and for your walls. You have OSnaps enabled. Now for the not so good. You have SNAP enabled. Turn it off. You don't need it for this exercise. In four days time you produced a drawing that contains a single line and a single arc. What happened to the rest of the drawing? The line representing your door is supposed to be 30" long. Your line is 2" long. The arc representing the door swing is supposed to have a radius of 30". Your arc has a radius of 5". Both the line and the arc have a "thickness" applied of 6". This is supposed to be a 2D not a 3D drawing so no thickness (height) is required. And since you are looking at this in a top down view you'd never notice the height anyway. I outlined two slightly different methods for doing the drawing exercise. Why didn't you follow either of them? I think you need to look at some of the basic tutorials here at CADTutor before continuing on with this exercise. When you are done then come back here and refer to the image showing the sequence I would like you to follow as seen in post #8. Edited April 29, 2014 by ReMark Quote
ReMark Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I used your drawing to do this. Since you decided to use architectural units I did not change it. What you drew is shown inside the white circle to the left. My walls are 6"x48" and were created using the Rectangle command. Quote
ReMark Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 hisdiamond: How are you coming along with your drawing exercise? Have you managed to complete it? Quote
ReMark Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 (edited) Patient? No. Stubborn? Yes. Goes with the whole German-Irish-Czech ethnicity. 2-May-14 No response yet. I guess he gave up. Too bad. Edited May 2, 2014 by ReMark Quote
