Tutorial 101 - cannot create centrepoint

In http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showth...8-Inventor-101 I am at posting 33 and I came to a halt.

 

 

I can't draw a point on the flat, and I don't see any midpoint on the created line.

 

 

What do I have wrong?

Right click on Sketch3 and select Edit Sketch (if not already in sketch editing environment).

Select the sketch point tool.

Click the midpoint (green dot will appear) of the line.

Oooops! Mea Culpa! I forgot to mention that I am using Inventor 2015.

 

 

I don't get any centrepoint showing.

I opened your file in 2015.

The image I posted above is from 2015.

The image you posted is from the other end of the Ribbon than the image I posted.

Of course if you want to create a sketch point need to be on the Create tab as shown in my image.

I recommend you sign up for a class.

Unfortunately, Classes are beyond my financial reach. Perhaps they won't be, on day, if I can get a grip on Inventor.

So, did you figure it out?

 

The Point Format tool at the other end of the ribbon is for toggling a Point to a Center Point or a Center Point to a Point. Try it! Select the endpoint of a line and then click that tool or select a Center Point and click that tool. At some point (pun intended) as I continue the Tutorial - we will see the point of toggling the style of a point.
