spursnutter Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I am having problems with the edge lines of solids showing through but I can't see anywhere in the settings for visual styles why it should be doing it. see attached picture of my problem. Redrawn Half Landing Return test.dwg Quote
ReMark Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 So you have checked Edge Settings, Edge Modifiers and Fast Silhouette Edges parameters under Visual Styles Manager and nothing appears to be ot of the ordinary? Quote
papagyi Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Your dwg was fine with my acad 2008/9!...I have to suggest to your realistic style to reset default! You can right click on "realistic style" from visual style manager dialog box!You can see my screen shot! Quote
spursnutter Posted December 4, 2008 Author Posted December 4, 2008 I did what you suggested but still the same problem. If I cut and paste the solid into a new template everything is fine but I can't for the life of me figure out why it is still like it. Quote
papagyi Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I think may be your software problem !Coz when i open your drawing with my acad 2008 and 2009,everything fine!Did you install cad 2009 SP2? Quote
dvjstyles Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Some drawings just seem to corrupt Autocads handling of Visual Styles so you get these Hidden lines show through. I have two drawings open at the same time - one shows 3D hidden and Conceptual as correctly solid with no hidden lines showing through and the other shows all the hidden lines AND surface lines across each object plane. Yet when I started drawing this morning both drawings were fine, I have changed none of the settings - only jumped between different visual styles when suddenly this happens. I have purged, audited, restarted.. I dont have another machine at hand to try it on. I am utterly convinced its a problem with the programming of all the recent autocad (2006 +) versions. Anyone know a fix or agree that there is a definate problem here? Quote
dvjstyles Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Best solution has been to go back to one your saved Views (not one of the autocad defaults) - somehow this seems to refresh Acads handling of Visual Styles back into a workable fashion. I dont know why this is tho. Any ideas? Quote
