Tiger Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I was under the impression that any posts in the chat forums didn't count towards the post count.. Nah, it doesn't, you're right. I'm just toying with the idea of those of us that spend a lot of time in the Chat section should get some sort of recognition Quote

Tiger Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Good point - theres a lot of wisdom in those chat forums ...uhm...are we in the same Chat forum? just kidding Wisdom yes, just perhaps not always cad-related wisdom Quote
Strix Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 ... and of course there are those who manage to sneak the odd banter post into the tech section I still wonder whether a custom user status for any user over 500 posts would remove the competition over post count which sometimes arises Mind you, I'm usually not in favour of anything which makes a site more work to run - I prefer forums to be pretty much self managing once the software's all set up  Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Well perhaps when you went in to your profile to change the title, it would send a flag to the proper admins so they'd just need to click a 'Yea' or 'Nay' button. Quote
Strix Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 it's not accessible from your profile - unless there's a vBulletin hack for it does anybody know if there is? Quote
ReMark Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 What behavior is it that we want to encourage or discourage? Quote
Lee Mac Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 What behavior is it that we want to encourage or discourage? Hmmm... I can imagine the kind of ranks we'd be getting... especially if people were having a bad day. Ranks like "Moron" "AutoCAD Imbecile" etc etc I reckon the Mods would be given a ton of extra work to moderate the swear words out of people's ranks Quote
Strix Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 you can't edit your own ranks you'd have to apply for them, and they're pretty permanent - you don't get to change them daily - that's what signatures are for Quote

ReMark Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 Lee Mac's middle name is Neptune and he lives in Water World. However, neither fact influenced him in the least. Quote

PotGuy Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Maybe for ReMark's post count, we should have one simply called 'ReMark'? (I know, old Thread [4 years!], but I like these Threads!) Quote
tzframpton Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 PotGuy, what is your motivation behind constantly resurrecting old threads like this? It clogs the New Post feeds with unnecessary threads, not to mention you're not contributing to them at all. Nor is it necessary to post a random thought or opinion in all these archived threads. No posting rules pertaining to this has ever needed to be in place. I guess it may be time to at least bring up the topic over in the feedback section. Quote
PotGuy Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) I end up seeing a thread I like, and just post a comment on it. Normally I don't realise the age until after I post. (We may have had a few more today if didn't notice on some of the others!) Normally happens when I'm doing a search on something and I see something interesting. http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?57803-Incredibly-stupid-drawing-habits&p=553746#post553746 - Post No 338...
