shailujp Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I have a drawing that has texts as * and would like to replace with X using find/replace command. The AutoCAD understand or gets confused with * as wildcard and replaces all entities with X. Any ideas? Using AutoCAD 2008. Thanks Quote
MSasu Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Please expand FIND's dialog box (there should be a button with an arrow pointing down in its left-bottom corner) and un-check the Use Wildcards option. Quote
shailujp Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Dont have that option in 2008. See below snap Quote
MSasu Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) Ooops, seems that the dialog was changed in new versions. Please try to precede the wildcard with an apostrophe reverse-quote or a backslash and check if this aproach helps. `* or \* Edited March 24, 2014 by MSasu Fixed the name of character Quote
shailujp Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Ahh..something worked. I dont know the character ` name but its above the Tab key (on the left of the 1 number). Thanks Quote
MSasu Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 You were right, that isn't called apostrophe, but reverse-quote (fixed its name in my post too for further reference). Quote
