I have a drawing that has texts as * and would like to replace with X using find/replace command. The AutoCAD understand or gets confused with * as wildcard and replaces all entities with X. Any ideas?

Using AutoCAD 2008.

Thanks

Please expand FIND's dialog box (there should be a button with an arrow pointing down in its left-bottom corner) and un-check the Use Wildcards option.

Dont have that option in 2008. See below snap

Ooops, seems that the dialog was changed in new versions.

Please try to precede the wildcard with an apostrophe reverse-quote or a backslash and check if this aproach helps.

`*

or

\*

You were right, that isn't called apostrophe, but reverse-quote (fixed its name in my post too for further reference).
