Imported blocks are `filled in`? How do I remove?

Hi All,

I am new to the Forum to please bare with me if I have posted this in the wrong place.

I am using autocad 2012 with a library of blocks that is supplied by my company.

Sometimes, when editing other peoples drawings, the imported blocks enter our layout `filled in` (see below);

You can see here some blocks in yellow and blue, the blocks in red show how they normally import.

I think this is a layer scale inside the drawing, that just needs to be altered but I have no idea where to start?

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Is it possible those blocks have a solid hatch applied to them?

I think they do but the scale of the hatch in our drawings is different.

Here are the same blocks copied and pasted into a blank drawing;

I would suspect that in one drawing the variable FILL is set to "on" while in the other drawing the same variable is set to "off".

Hatch can be scaled annotatively, so if you import it at a large scale the hatch may not be 'on' at that scale. Open the block in block editor and select the hatch, you may need to make sure the Annotation Visibility is switched on (icon next to the scales with a light bulb.) Select the hatch and check in the properties to see if it has annotative scales.

Ahhhh, found it!

The layer was turned on and needed to be turned off!

Thanks :-)

The layer? You mean there was a separate layer for the hatch pattern?
