craney89 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Hello everybody, how to you set the dimension settings so you don't have to change them everytime you create one. color, size, arrow size thanks again. Quote
rkent Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 You create a dim style, DIMSTYLE or DDIM at the command line, or from the ribbon, Annotate, Dimensions, lower right arrow. You will want to do this in your template so it is in any new drawings, for existing drawings you can drag and drop the style from the DesignCenter (DC). Quote

Drop the dimstyle from the design center? Can i do this in Autocad 2010? Will it keep all my setting that i want for every drawings? Quote
ReMark Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Yes, you can drag-n-drop a DimStyle (ex. - MyStyle as seen in above image) into an open drawing via the Design Center. Don't forget to make it current though. You could probably do something similar by putting your custom DimStyle on a Tool Palette. Quote
Sengna Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Sorry ReMark, i opened my design center as you can see on the left of the attach pic, i can't find the list ex: BLOCKS, dimstyles, layers, layouts, linetype........Another question if i am able to drag and drop the dimstyle to any open drawing, will all my text, arrow, units stay on the drawing without create the new dimstyle? rkent Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 You will want to set your dimstyles in a template drawing. In DC navigate to the template (.dwt) file you will be using, right click, pick Set As Home. Now anytime you need to drag and drop things from your template you can open DC, pick the home button, drill down to what you want and drag and drop. I am pointing to acad.dwt just as an example, use your own template file. Quote
ReMark Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Sengna: If you'll take a closer look at the image I provided you'll notice I clicked on a drawing not on a folder. All the objects you mentioned will be found in your drawings. Quote
