I fully understand the concept of how simple block insertion is setup and done with the tool pallets but I'm struggling to understand how the more complex tools work.

In a general nature can someone explain how a tool like the 'Sheet Keynote' works and might be modified?

If I look at the properties it looks like there's a block, leader and text, but I don't see any attribute definitions for where it inserts the Note data.

Is the entire tool defined from the symbol location drawing or is there some underlying code?

If I open the symbol location drawing and drag the leader and block onto a pallete I don't get the same tool?

I've been searching many forums and I have a decent background in VBA but I'm still perplexed by these more advanced tools. Any help/directions would be greatly appreciated...

thx in advance,

Tim

Hi Tim, I have a lot of examples of palette tools, but I'm a little confused what your after. I am not familiar with the Sheet Keynote routine. Let me know what your after and I might be able to help

I've been staring at my screen now for 10 minutes trying to think were I should begin.

My immediate need is to modify either the Sheet or Reference note tool to work for our purposes but want to incorporate some of my older VBA routines once updated.

When I look at the pieces (tool properties and source drawing) I don't see how it all works together to produce the endresult. Online help very limited, have found little to no information on many forums, web search not too fruitful either....

Are you familiar with any of the ACA pallet tools?

OK, I now know what your talking about, but the bad news is I dont have ACA , but, I can help you with other tools. questions:

  1. how many different ways can you start the keynote routine? Im looking for a way to make it work. List all examples.
  2. What are some of your VBA tools you want to add? list some examples (just the sub name would be fine)
  3. Are we talking about VBA only, or do you have LISP tools as well?
