richard3009 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 For many years now I have just placed text above a line on my drawing and to make it all nice and tidy just copied it relative from line to line then edit as needed, is there a command to place the text at a set position above the line Quote
Dadgad Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 You could use MTEXT with the Underline style chosen in the text formatting editor, and in that way the spacing would always be the same. Quote
richard3009 Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 I can see how that works yes, but say for example I have a drawing with lines all over the place and I wish to place text above each line lets say 5mm how could I do this fast and accurately Quote
Dadgad Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) Ah, right you are there, sorry I misunderstood your situation. I had been going to suggest a wonderful Lee Mac lisp, but noticed that you are using LT, so that wouldn't help you. As the lines and Text are different distinct entities I don't believe you will find an easier solution, unless of course you create a Block with your spacing reference or base point and some text. Tyke Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 If you use a block made up of text, possibly a dynamic block where you can have a drop down list to choose from standard texts that you use, you can set the insertion point 5 mm below the text. Then insert the block onto a palette and set the parameters to explode the block on insertion, if it' a dynamic block don't explode it or you will loose the drop down, and enable the alignment property. In the palette button's macro you could set object snap to nearest so you don't insert it on the end points of a line, for example. If you have a need for 5, 10 and 15 mm distance above your line create three blocks. Quote
