I concur -- I've tried all manner of plotting a DWG to a PDF and found that the DWG To PDF.pc3 gives the smallest file size with consistently accurate output.

I've found that as long as you have the DWG To PDF.pc3 Custom Properties configured to "capture all the fonts" and plot them as geometry, all the issues of plotting a DWG to PDF that contain Arial or other True Type Fonts turning garbled and unreadable completely goes away.

What I'd REALLY like to see is a smoother relationship with PDF underlays .... they can be clunky to work with and plot to paper or PDF out like lo-res garbage sometimes -- very touchy feature to encourage less-than-power users to adopt comfortably when so much tweaking is necessary to overcome graphic plot settings conflicts.

I have personally never had a problem with the built in pdf printer in AutoCAD. How can i get my hands on the pre-release version of AutoCAD 2015? I handle most of the software upgrading and testing for my company.

@jland504 -

I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but becoming a Beta tester for Autodesk will give you pre-release access to play around with (and give feedback on) the software before it is officially released.

It's actually kind of fun - hopefully you will get the chance to test drive 2016! :D

I fully agree with that.

Now, pre 2010 release? Yes, the built-in PDF driver was garbage. It made terrible quality, huge PDFs. We used AcroPlot back then.

But 2010 release and later..... we've been able to drop AcroPlot and use the built in driver with no problems.

Every time I try and use it, I get the following error every time:

It does seem much faster and smoother running. They have worked on the display and arcs and non-ortho lines looks smooth instead of stepped. That alone is worth the upgrade. Not sure there is much else new in the way of new tools, etc.

The dark style is also in 2014, just a toggle in the options, display tab.
