copied objects have cross hairs when pasted into another drawing

I am copying objects from one drawing into another (furniture for office.) When I paste them, the objects each have a large square, with a circle and crosshairs on them. I can select the object and delete it, undo and the square/circle/crosshairs get smaller, but don't go away completely. A few months ago, someone told me how to get rid of that; but I can't remember now and I can't reach my original source. Anyone know how to change this?

Sounds like a Point Style issue. Type DDPTYPE at the command line and make sure it's on the first option.

thank you - that did it. Now that it's here in CADtutor - I can reference this in the future. Doesn't happen much, but when it does, it's such a pain.
