ReMark Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 All depends how big is the tank thtt will be sitting on top of the existing one.How heavy will it be when filled? Will it be directly and in line connected to the nozzle on the top existing one? The tank is 24" in diameter with a 30" straight side height. Flat head and dished bottom. Quote
ReMark Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Nice work ReMark nice to see that we earn from the same trade Thank you for your kind words. The company I work for is a small, family owned, specialty chemical manufacturer. It has been in business since 1936. What about you? Quote
ReMark Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 It is an atmospheric tank and as such will be fabricated in house however we try to adhere to the ASME standard whenever possible. Quote
ROBP Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 The tank is 24" in diameter with a 30" straight side height. Flat head and dished bottom. Will it be hook-up to one of the nozzles sitting on the the top the one in 3d you posted? If so i would put channels underneath the existing roof to support the weight with enough space on each side of the nozzle to allow enogh room to weld all with connecting brace channels to the shell inner side. I would do a run test moment calculation if is was you. R Quote
ReMark Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 It is still under discussion and nothing will be decided until next week but I'll note your suggestions and have them with me when I attend the meeting. Thanks. Quote

Sengna Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 You are absolutely right...I live in Connecticut. Where in Washington are you located? I've been to Seattle and have driven down the west coast of the state after visiting in Vancouver, B.C. I even stopped in Bellingham and took the ferry over to Lummi Island to visit a friend who was building a house there at the time. I think it was 101 that I took having gone through Crescent City and eventually down to Eureka, CA.ReMark I am living about 2 1/2 hrs away from Seattle toward the Southeast of Seattle and i do not like the weather.
