Mouse roller opening selections

Hi guys ive got a problem with the roller on my mouse most tiimes when i try to pan for some reason the roller opens up the selection tab (see screen shot) how can i stop this it'a annoying and making it hard to move around??

Maybe your middle finger is pressing the right click button. I find mine does it sometimes when I click the wheel down.

What mouse are you using? Brand Name and model etc. if you can find it?

i thought i might be hitting the right click but it still comes up, its a dell and its only a year old

That is the right click menu. I tried briefly playing around with mbuttonpan and right click options to see if it is available from middle click to no avail. (It might be something available in Civil 3D though.) I think it might be a faulty mouse. Try a different one.

i am using autocad civil 3D, ill swap mouse and let you know how it goes. thanks

Turns out ylou were right rob draw and mikekmx the mouse was playing up so a new mouse fixed the problem. All of you thank you heaps for helping me fix this problem.
