Screen Autocad.jpgHi to everybody.

Its my first message and really I feel embarashed asking how to plot in color.

I use for many years Autocad but until now I used Autocad 2006 and 2007.

Now I use Autocad Architecture 2014 and almost everything is new for me.

The particular problem is in the plotting. The plot styles have been changed since 2007 and I cant plot in color the file you can see on the photo.

The strange thing is that in preview I see everything in colore (even when on plot style I have chosen monocrome.ctb).

For this project I want everything in Black except the two hatches that are in gradient color.

The office I work have just purchased t2014 Version so probably everything is out of order.

However i dont remember nothing similar with the 2006 and 2007 versions.

Thank you for your time.

Giovanni.

Try clicking on 'monochrome' again in the dropdown menu. This happens with me as well, you need to actually go into the dropdown menu and select it, even though it says it is on monochrome.

Or are you saying you want some parts in color and others to not be? As in do you want the ground and sky to be in colour and the rest in Black&White?

It sounds to me as though the OP wants to print in monochrome except the gradient hatch.

My suggestion would be to use a True Color for the gradient hatch and use the monochrome.ctb plot style. A True Color will override the setting for the layer the gradient hatch is on.

Thank you Trekiez and ReMark for helping.

Yes. I want to print everything in black except for the color hatch.

I put everything in "Index color" except the layer of the hatch which was put on true colors.

However I print allways everything in black. (Whatever monocrome or color Plot style I choose)

I opened also a "e transmit" file from a coleque and the same happens also with that file.

It must be something really stupid probably but we have just installed Autocad Architecture 2014 and probably something on the Ribon or elswhere is not regulated properly.

I will try again tomorrow because it really makes me have the headache.

It has nothing to do with anything on the Ribbon or a system variable. I'd say it has something to do with your CTB plot style file.

There is one other possibility. When you selected the color for the gradient did you select a True Color or an Index Color? Maybe the layer and it's color has nothing to do with it. I don't know because I don't use gradient hatches.

In a quick test I got some unexpected results. Three layers with three rectangular boxes all with a gradient hatch. Two of the gradients used index colors while the third used a true color. When I printed the drawing all three gradients plotted in color. I used a monchrome CTB too. I was not expecting that.

Plot Style Table.jpgThanks again ReMark. I will try again tomorrow. I used both true color and index color for the gradient to make sure that it wasnt there the problem.

I wanted to ask also something that maybe has something to do with the plot problem.

Under the menu of Plot style table ( see Photo) there is no acad.ctb. Is it normal for Autocad Architecture 2014?

The photo is quite small.

Sorry but I am not familiar enough with Architecture 2014 to answer your question although it does seem a bit odd.

Ok. I managed to make it work.

I knew that it was something stupid. :)

For some reason the regulations of the printer took over the regulations of Autocad.

I clicked "custom properties" under "properties" on the plot window and indeed the printer was on grey!

Thank you all.

I would like however hear about the presence or not of "acad.ctb" (or other missing? plot styles) from my version of "Autocad Architecture 2014". You can see the photo above.
