the ber Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I have AutoCAD LT 2013 German. According to the Autodesk site I can download an English language pack and use the program in English. I did everything the site said, including updating the Autodesk Content Service 2013 Language Pack Hotfix, but I still have only German available. Has anyone else had any experience of this nature? ReMark Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Once a language pack is installed how does one change from one language to another? Is it an option that is available when the program is started? Quote
Tyke Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 When you install the language pack you basically get a second application in the second language, you cannot swap languages as you can in many software programs. I installed AutoCAD LT 2014 German on my laptop and then installed the language pack to get AutoCAD LT English. There was a second short cut created on the desktop and in Start Menu > All programs > Autodesk there is a folder for LT German and LT English. @ the ber have you checked Start Menu > All programs > Autodesk to see what is there? I had no problems at all with the installation on W7 64 bit. Quote
the ber Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 When I look in the program files folders or in the Start Menu I can only find the entry for AutoCAD LT in German. No new icons were created on my desktop either. I have deinstalled, and then reinstalled the language pack to no avail. I don't really want to run a repair install of AutoCAD LT because it seems that my settings and menus might be reset if I do that. Quote
Tyke Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I don't think the problem lies with your current LT installation and would not do a repair or re-install on it either. It's a while since I did it but I also did it for Civil 3D and I just followed the instructions from Autodesk and it worked very well each time. The only thing that you have to watch is which language pack you download. The language pack for vanilla AutoCAD will not work for LT or Civil 3D. Make sure you have downloaded the language pack for LT in the version you have installed. Quote
the ber Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 I checked the version as you suggested, and it is indeed the correct version. So I once again deinstalled the language pack, and then reinstalled it. And now it works as hoped! Cool. Thanks for you help. (By the way, your English is quite good for a German.) Quote

Great that it works for you, at last. BTW, I'm not German, I'm an Englishman living (permanently) in Germany . What's your excuse for such good English. Quote
